My career has been a pursuit of business process improvement, change management, and enterprise development. Helping businesses exceed customer expectation, go above potential and set industry standards is my passion. I believe there is always room to improve, reach higher, and become better. In the words of Walt Disney - “Change is inevitable, growth is optional”.
As of late I have focused my efforts on cloud technologies; in particular Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Services. I have now been involved with several successful cloud implementation on various levels and have found for my clients the benefits far out weight any derived downside.
Another area of concentration has been what Udi Dahan calls ‘The Software Simplest’, which involves listening to the business, mitigating risk, and understanding the need. Far too often Developers will over engineer or use technologies where they are not expert, which can cause delays, expense, and sometime result in failed projects.
Planning is another arena I’ve given much time too pursuing. Too many times in my career I’ve seen a lack of planning cost company’s time, money, and result in a less than desired product. Giving thought to and documenting everything from business requirements to disaster recovery will help ensure a successful endeavor.
It is no longer just about the code. planning, choosing the right technologies, selecting the right hardware platform, understanding the customer, simplifying processes, minimizing code, and making sure everyone is informed and on board are all part of the development paradigm.
